This years event was well attended, and attendees were treated to an educational 'short' summary of the opportunities represented by the passing of the Electricity Act 2015 by the Minister for Economic Development, Grant Gibbons.

Our hosts HSBC Bermuda, represented by Clesia Realejo, followed this speech with their own announcement concerning the launch of a specific loan available for solar panels and associated energy saving costs. This new special interest rates for residents interested in installing solar panels is designed to help customers offset the cost of the loan with savings on their electricity bill.

The 2015 competition saw a number of strong submissions, and the judges had a hard time selecting an overall winner. In fact, as judge Jeann Nikolai, of the Department of Energy, relayed to the audience, the judges had to create a complex matrix to aid in their decision making!

In addition to the celebration of the above participants, another highlight of the evening was the catering by an up and coming local chef, Ashley Tucker, whose creations were based on both local and/or organic ingredients, including the beverage selection!
