This is the third time the association has chosen Bermuda as a conference venue since 2007 for utility and government representatives, in addition to industry partners.

The theme this year is 'Energy Security: Real or Imaginary?'. The agenda includes a workshop by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

The three-day conference begins on Monday. Two award-winning documentaries 'Chasing Ice' and 'The Island President' will also be presented to highlight the effects of climate change, and how it is being addressed internationally.

Belco President Andrew Parsons said: "Having the Renewable Energy Forum in Bermuda is a wonderful opportunity for Belco, as well as for Government and other interested parties to exchange ideas with industry experts, including representatives of other islands that face many of the same challenges as Bermuda."

The local registration fee is $600 per person and registration begins at 8.30am on Monday at the hotel. More information is posted on the association's website at www.carilec.org.
