Welcome to Greenrock

Greenrock is working to empower individuals and companies to do their part in making Bermuda socially, economically and environmentally more sustainable.

  1. Host a Halloween Costume swap - this is a great opportunity to get rid of all of those tiny pirate shirts and too tight witches dresses. Give your kids the chance to exercise their creativity with bits and pieces from other people - and save money. + Read more...

  2. Appoint an energy monitor for the classroom - most Primary classrooms take it in turns to be the line leader, or collect work, or clean the blackboard. Add "Energy Monitor" to the list of jobs so that someone is always in charge of turning off lights and fans when you leave the room.

  3. Organise a "walking school bus" - designate a car-park or other area just off a main road near school where children can be dropped by parents, and organise a rotation of volunteers to meet the children and walk them in to school. This saves time for the parents, congestion in the school grounds and fuel used up waiting in line.

  4. Adopt a "no idling" policy for parents waiting to pick-up students - most schools have a queue of parents at the end of the day waiting in line for up to 15 minutes to pick up their children. Ask parents to turn off their engines while they wait to reduce fuel usage. Post signs near the pick up area to remind them that idling gets you nowhere.

  5. Organise a "Green School" presentation - our popular School Roadshow can come to an assembly near you to talk about how to 'green' your school, or reduce waste, or any other 'green' topic you are interested in. 6. Start a school garden - organise an Eco-Club or Garden Club for students at lunch time or after school. If your school doesn't have a garden already we can help as part of our Healthy Harvest project. Contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
