About Green Building Forum
The Green Building Forum (GBF) began in 2009 and consists of various members who ultimately are seeking to drive change for more environmentally sustainable commercial environments.
GBF meetings are typically held every two months and are chaired by Greenrock President, Dr. Judith Landsberg.
The Need
Greenrock discovered a need amongst the business community to have a regular forum where ideas and knowledge could be shared surrounding proposed and ongoing sustainability practices in Bermuda.
In addition, companies who participated in Greenrock's Green Office project expressed a desire to further supplement their learning of sustainable work environments and seek ideas from others on best practices.
Our Approach
GBF serves as a knowledge sharing space for its members. It is not used for marketing opportunities but rather its mission is to:
- Share ideas, common concerns and potential solutions surrounding sustainability issues such as waste, recycling and planning permission
- Share and celebrate success stories
- Act as a 'watchdog' and if necessary, put pressure on public and private sector organizations for change in these areas
- Invite guests, where appropriate, or other interested parties such as representatives of Government departments or members of the press
- Provide networking opportunities for members
Meetings: scheduled every two months during a weekday lunch hour (12 -2pm); hosted by member companies.
Membership consists of: nominated representatives of Greenrock's Corporate member companies including hotels, exempt companies, service providers, building owners, construction companies, banks, architects and other local businesses.
