Make Earth Hour 2009 a success by getting involved now!
The Concept of Earth Hour: Tens of millions of people around the world will come together once again to make a bold statement about their concern about global climate change by doing something quite simple – turning off their lights for one hour. Earth Hour symbolises the concept that, by working together, each of us can have a positive impact in the fight against climate change.
Purpose: Bermuda will become the first Flagship Country to be recognised by World Wildlife Fund (US) and will be part of their global media campaign for Earth Hour. For Bermuda, it sends a message that we care about this issue and stand with the rest of the world in seeking to find solutions to the escalating climate crisis.
Proposed Date: March 28, 2009 at 8:30pm
Get involved! Greenrock needs corporate and individual sponsorship to help make this event a success for Bermuda and the world. We are also reaching out to the community for volunteers.
Through this event, Bermuda has the chance to make a major statement on the world stage – we care about global climate change and, through this event, the country is making a commitment to come together and do something about it.
