I am trained as an Environmental Scientist which has led me back to Bermuda my home in my current capacity as Waste Education and Enforcement Officer for the Ministry of Works and Engineering. After an exciting two years with the Ministry learning about Bermuda’s waste management issues I’m sad to leave behind great people and great projects. However, I am very excited to have been given the opportunity to lecture in Earth and Environmental Science at the Bermuda College. Education has always been very important in my life and I hope to be able to give back to Bermuda’s youth-our future.
What motivates me to get out of bed in the morning?
I try to view life as a great big adventure and always find that there is something exciting around every corner. Hence, I’m always looking forward to starting a new day and experiencing life to the fullest.
What would you like to see change in your lifetime
It is important to me for Bermuda to reach both environmental and social harmony where we work together as Bermudians to ensure that the natural beauty of our island home is preserved. I hope that in my lifetime I will see more people becoming environmental stewards and that it becomes second nature to us as a community. I also hope that as a society we can mature and appreciate our interesting diversities which make us so unique and beautiful.
Why should we care about Bermuda's development
Bermuda is such a unique place with so much to offer in such a small package. However, due to our size it is imperative that we protect open spaces and focus on developing areas that were previously developed before. As a society we need open space to ensure that we can maintain a healthy balance both from the human and environmental perspective.
