What motivates you out of bed in the mornings?
Technological toys and the occasional prospect of doing something that resembles art.
What would you like to see change in your lifetime?
I would like to see Bermudians trying to regain their former self-reliant character. We were once a people who knew how to survive in our remote location. We had a core connection with nature as a part of our livelyhood. That was reflected in the way we lived our lives and in our architecture, and in the many innovative methods that Bermudians devised to get by. We still have those skills and knowledge, and that attitude of self-reliance is what we need to survive in the future.
Why should we care about Bermuda's development?
I wonder why we wouldn't. If you have children or want them, then you must also want an island for them to grow in where they can enjoy Bermuda's great beauty as well as her prosperity. Living sustainably is about living in a Bermudian way. We grew up saving water, recyling old good things and wasting little long after the rest of the western world gave it up. I'd like to know what is so different now? Our needs are still the same.
